I have no way to go get this washer right now, but wanted to give a heads up to others who may be interested.

What did you need to know? A500 is a Highlander, nothing fancy, not sure if this one is large capacity,or small capacity.Built in the early 60's I believe.

hmmm says its a super highlander. maybe thats a clue as to its capacity.

i don't have any machines at this point, and i'm new to this. i like maytags, the way they look, the dependibility... so i'm trying to decide if this is the right machine to get started with.

i'm trying to get a sense of its rarity, if it has any special things that make it stand out, if its hard to get parts for or work on, that sort of thing.

this is a small tub machine like the ones from the 50s. I dont think they came out with the extra large tubs until 1966.Don.

Transmission wise,Maytag used this setup for a LOT of years, should have no problems with parts.Timers, and such are probably NLA from parts places, but still available from Ebay, etc.
