Hi all, Thanks for the input. Went and looked and settled on the Maytag, good price and seemed like a decent enough machine. This site is always helpful and thanks again!

Kenmore Elite here very much like a Kitchenaid. Does a great job. Maytag, Whirlpool and Kitchenaid are all owned by Whirlpool now. |

Jim, Peteski was telling me about it and I don't remember . He sells the new machines and is much more familiar. I don't think it was "Extra Shine". |

I would definitely recommend a new Maytag dishwasher! This one looks pretty nice but you'd have to check the reviews. Comes in stainless steel, white, and black.

Bosch added a new cycle on their 2017 linup. I think it was something simmilar to the 1h wash by Whirlpool. |

My recommendation is that you buy a Bosch / Siemens dishwasher or a Miele. Buy Bosch / Siemens dishwasher as BSH dishwashers are the best value for money.
I have a Bosch integrated dishwasher and it's a few months old and never had trouble at all. Before the integrated one I had a Bosch Exxcel SGS56E02GB dishwasher for 13 years. It was a flipping workhorse. I have a few friends who own BSH dishwashers and they recommend it. I have a friend who owns a Hotpoint FDD912 dishwasher in Graphite and she has had no trouble with it. IMO Hotpoint dishwashers before 2003 are good and reliable workhorses as they are basically rebaged Bosch / Siemens machines. I don't think Hotpoint dishwashers post 2003 are good because they are rebadged Aristons / Indesits made in Italy. Before buying the Bosch SGS56E02 in 2003 Mum decided on the Hotpoint DWF70G because of the look of it. Bosch / Siemens make the best machines without going the Miele route. |

much about Bosch dishwashers - but I do wonder if there is any major difference between the USA vs Euro versions of Bosch. I do know there are big differences in the clothes washers because of the voltage difference.
Oh, and what's up with the pictures? If someone posts more than one picture, I can see the first one, but when I try to > to the next pic there's just a spinning circle that stays there forever. |

The US Bosch dishwashers don't have the heat exchanger (where water is preheated before it fills into the tub), nor do they have the storage tank to save final rinse water for the next prewash. I think the tubs are slightly deeper as well and you get much more, as we call tham, XXL dishwashers that are about two inches taller than the "normal" European units that are referred to as ADA Compliant in the US.
I guess a feature that'll be exclusive to the US is the MyWay drawer, primarily designed for bowls.
