Works beautifully, all original parts are present and complete including racks, detergent cup, sink fitting, drain baskets, owners manual (not pictured but I do have it). Even comes with an old box of Calgonite detergent which came with it when I got it! Doesn't look like it was used very much at all, very clean inside and out. Small enamel chip on front corner, and another one on the back corner. Also comes with a new spare water valve, it stuck once when I first got it but it hasn't since, so I never installed the new valve (probably just from lack of use). Located in Dexter, MI. Asking $150

It has a 5 minute wash and two one minute rinses. I usually stopped it after the wash and first rinse, turned the timer back to the start position and then restarted it for a second wash with everything warmed up. Once it finished the pre-wash purge, I would slightly raise the lid and slip in some detergent on something flat to retain as much heat as possible. The height of the tub is amazing and great for tall things. I liked the flexibility of the three section upper rack and sometimes would leave one section out to accommodate big items.  I like the Machine Age Modern look of the latch and escutcheon.

If you don't sell it in the next few weeks send me a message. If you can hold it for a while, I could get it my next trip to Ohio. Thanks!

Will

Without a heater you need a nice supply of *HOT* water. At least 140F if not greater which was standard in many homes back then these units were first offered.

TL dishwashing has gotten on my nerves so while a lovely machine, am not interested. *LOL*

If can find one of those Ikea 18" kits that turn Miele dishwashers into portables, the MM likely is going to be replaced. Hahaha.

Laundress...

Perhaps a cabinet maker or a finish carpenter might be able to make a "shell".

I've thought about this numerous times for one of my built ins.

Choose the material and finish it as you like ???

Hello Luv!

Looked into that some time back; sadly NYC area carpenters like other tradesmen aren't inexpensive. The ones who would take such a job wanted very dear money so quickly moved on.

Could kick myself for not nabbing one of those Ikea kits when they were so easily found. Someone was literally giving the thing away after the purchased but decided to go with built-in instead.

Interesting.

I just posted in the yellow forum about my KD-2P, which I've had since about 2006. It's in my enclosed patio kitchen. I ran it a few times and then parked it. Rebuilt the top lid hinges out of stainless steel (I was a machinist at the time). It cleaned well enough but I had another dishwasher in the main kitchen (Bosch) which was more convenient. It's a fun machine.

Oh, and thanks for this thread. I was wondering the year of this dishwasher. It's not printed anywhere on the machine. But 1958 sounds about right.
