My friend Doug is cleaning out his late parents house in
Versailles, Missouri. In the basement laundry room we found
this Philco-Bendix washer/dryer combination. It is a model
CGV-C. I did a little research on this and apparently it is a fairly
rare gas model. I am helping him liquidate the house contents to
raise enough money to repair the house. It needs a new roof and
paint and many little things.
We tried to move this out of the basement, but it is too heavy
for two seniors to move. We have done no testing on it and
haven't even plugged it in, but we can check it out with a little
instruction. I repair all manner of equipment, including
appliances, and have the necessary tools and meters.
We both live 60 miles from Versailles, but make a weekly trip
there to move out more stuff and do some repairs.
We have no idea what this unit is worth, so we are taking bids
on it and will let the market determine it's value. I will post
some photos of it for you to view.
Ideally, someone will want it who can come and pick it up. I
can arrange to hire local labor (4 strong guys?), at your expense,
to move it out of the basement. I could also strap it to a pallet
for a reasonable fee if you want to arrange for a lift gate truck to
pick it up.
Thank you for reading my post and I look forward to your
offers or questions.

Four strong guys is right. Moving one of these is quite an experience. Wonder what it looks like inside that back panel?

back panel

Gyrafoam, I don't know. I'll take some tools and a camera with me next week when Doug and I go back. Anything in particular I should look for, besides the rusty flue?
