.
Are these anything? Seems pricey for something that is soon to be toast, I'd offer much less...is a bearing job doable by an amateur (assuming that's the culprit)?

well, for the most part, he will be sitting on that for a while...

just for the bearing shaft and seals, will run you about 75.00.....prices will vary....

now to go onto a parts website, its sold already assembled, outter tub and all....to a price close to 314.00...as noted part number 11....

he will be lucky to get 200.00 if it was working.....in any case, 'broken' is just scrap value, about 5.00.....you can offer him 25.00 to 50.00, I wouldn't go any further than that....even that is on the high side....

better yet, offer him the asking 100.00....but that HE supplies the parts and that you will rebuild it yourself.....willing to bet, he knows what it cost, that's why most are trying to get as much out of them as possible....

honesty, nothing to rebuilding one of these.....check out youtube, there are step by step videos of how to do this procedure.....I was able to do it under an hour...

this unit was built Sept 2010....looks newer

I really like that "in perfect physical condition, but loud during the spin".

It's NOT in "perfect physical condition" if it makes noise and needs repair.

BTW, I wouldn't give them $25 for it.  I've had a couple of these (same machine, different brand / model) and was never very impressed.  Some people say an older Maytag '06 series washer has a boring wash cycle, just try watching one of these for 20-30 minutes.... you'll be yawning and falling asleep.

Likely

it needs a hub/tub bearing job.
