Do you know if they were ever sold in Australia?
That's what I have at home but I don't want to part with it!

I have a Australian brochure that shows the Deluxe model only. It's not a photo but a drawing. No Custom Imperials! |

Hi Gents,
Thanks for your replies. Phil - your kitchen is gorgeous. The cupboards look similar those in the original kitchen at my parent's house which was built in 1968. I noticed you also have a Flair. I have actually imported one from the USA and redesigned the circuitry to make it work on our 240V 50Hz. So I'm looking for a US Frigidaire dishwasher to import and put with my Flair ! Tim |

There were ovens similar to Flairs that were also sold by Holden/GM. Did you ever see one of these?

It was called the "Caprice". Here's a newer double oven version.

They list 2 models - mobile and under-counter. Looks like a DW-DUF to me. SteveD |

Here's an ad for the Caprice oven and cooktop. Note that the Australian 4 burner cooktop looks quite similar to the 32" cooktops sold in the US and Canada but it has 3 6" burners and one 8" instead of 2 of each. Like the Canadian cooktops, it has two pilot lights, those in the United States had one.

Thanks Phil and Steve for the great scans. I've found a few Frigidaire freestanding ranges put out for the roadside waste collection and noticed that they generally seem rather scaled down in features compared to the American ones.
Dishwashers were a rare luxury in Australia in the early 1960s. I've never seen one which is why I'm hoping to find a good one in the USA to import. |
