I was wondering what everyone's opinion is on the Whirlpool DU8500XX-0. I am thinking about getting one of these machines but I am not sure if should get one of these or not.

Any information as to how reliable these machines are or how well they work would be greatly appreciated.

WP DW DU8500XX-0

Is an excellent performing DW, why haven't you gotten and installed it yet ?

Keep in mind it is older than you are and it just might need some service to make it operate like new, most common problem is it might need a new inlet valve if it has been used a lot, if it is a very low use machine it might not need anything.

It was my grandmothers dishwasher. I have all the books but the machine is still in her house which has been sold for over a year. The new owner knows that I really want the machine and he wants a new one. It was lightly used and worked great. I just have to wait for home to get around to changing it out.

I am not sure if I want it or a Hobart made KitchenAid though.

I can only get one. I truly think I should go for the one with family ties though

Is better built than a WP DW, BUT this WP DW will out perform ANY KA Hobart DW ever sold for home use, You just have to decide what you want and what is most important to you, thee are no perfect choices in life.

I plan for this dishwasher to be used for all of the dishes in the house. Even with it being used as the main machine it will only be ran twice a week at most.

I would like to know which machine will last better and which of these machines will clean the best.

Also does the four way hydrosweep clean any better than a regular spray arm.

Power Cleans Rule

I love my Hobart but its missing the disposal that the power clean had. You have to clean the filter on the Hobart. I would love to find an old power clean DU7903XL but I'll tolerate the Hobart until then.
