So I have a friend (who posts here) and she had a Bosch stackable washer/dryer unit in her house. These things retail for around $2,000 but she would watch the local CL and pick them up for $200-$300. She had 3 of them--one in the house and two spares in the garage for parts. The story is people would buy them at full price and eventually move and then discover their new place didn't have 220VAC. So the expensive new Bosch would need to get sold, and she was right there with cash in hand. So at some point her washer went kaput... I have forgotten exactly what was wrong with it, but she and I decided to tear into the other two to salvage the part needed. So first we pulled apart the one in the house that she was using. In between the basket and the housing we found 13 single kids' socks. This #@$& machine had been eating kids socks. And it would only eat ONE of a pair. So we went to the garage and tore into the other machines, expecting to find socks, etc. In the first washer, between the basket and the housing was... nothing. In the second one was a single item--a $20 bill. I claimed it. True story.

many times when a machine is overstuffed, small items like sock and wash cloths can find their way into the door bellows or outter tub area.....

always best for items this small is to use a zippered mesh laundry net...to prevent small items from getting lost...

many times we pick up machines for cheap, only to discover a sock made its way into the pump.....
