Something like a Bendix(hard or soft mount or duomatic), or WCI made(later, non slant).

Bingo!

If you're selling it. I just don't know how it would be shipped to Detroit.

I'm not close by either, but I'm considering selling my unrestored '47 Bendix bolt-down.  Y'all will see why soon!!

Richard,

Sitting in Ann Arbor, at the ReUse Center is a early 1970's White Westinghouse Laundromat in beautiful condition. It is missing it's top. but the machine looks very low use and is beautiful. It was there last weekend. They are asking 40.00. If you call ahead, and it's still there, I'd nab it. I've wanted to get it, but just haven't the room now.

Ann Arbor Re-Use Center, 2420 S. Industrial Hwy, Ann Arbor 48104 (734)-222-7880
It's been there about a month, and No one has nabbed it, so it may still be there...

Chad

Richard, the photo I posted is a 1990 model.  Variable speed DC motor, reverse tumbling, slower ramp up to spin, electric drain pump, etc.

If the one Chad posted at the Re-Use Center is an early '70's model, it will be a 3 belt design, solenoid to engage spin, faster ramp up to spin, etc.

A really neat machine and I agree completely, GO get it if it's still there!!!

Thanks Chad,

I convinced my mother to take the drive with me on Saturday after calling Friday to make sure it is still there. I first had to ask the neighbor if she might not mind holding onto the thing until I am fully back into my house from the fire(only garage but smoke damage) about 2 months ago. Probably be one more month until I am back home. She said yes to storing it in her garage, I'd offered money but she would not accept it. Being out of house and home for a few months has been some ordeal, being autistic (aspergers) and thus resistant to change makes it a little more stressful than if I were not, but I like my different view of the world and thus wouldn't change myself a bit.

Sorry for the digressions and ranting about my current state of affairs.
