No, it has the disk just like the Oasis. Very same machine except for the brand name and the windows are clear instead of tinted. |

Yeah, the dryer looks like it has a big mouth kinda like you see on Peanuts cartoons. The Oasis's window has more of a "Smile" than the Whirlpool. |

Hey cabrio in flemish means convertable (is this spelled right?). If its not clear it a car without a roof. I like the fact that those machines are build. Energy efficient and toploading. But does they realy wash as clean as possible. Hopefully they do!! |

Well Jason, I guess you've forgotten about the last version of Hamilton dryers with a very similar window. I think WP is paying homage to that style, after all, the first LK Combos had a rectangularish window very similar to Hamiltons. I'm just gonna have to go to Lowes tomorrow and check this out, since I've wanted to see what this new agitator looks like.

According to the whirlpool web-site, this machine "is specifically designed without a space consuming agitator". Does this mean NO agitator or just a different kind??? |

These cabinets kind of remind me of the early 50's WP/KM machines. Going back to rounded corners. |

Ain't that cool? Rounded cornere, porcelain tops. Windows on the doors. WP's headed in the right direction. |

Well, I went today and had a ganer. The dryer they had next to it didn't have a window. BUT THE WASHER DID!! YAY!! There was an F&P IWL12/IWL15 on the other side of the cabrio dryer. So I got to do a little bit comparison. The WP drum is larger, but I wonder if it's highest water level fills as high up as the F&P does.. I like the idea of the rubber fins at the base of the agitator. However, my concern is how that rubber will hold up over time given what we saw happened to the rubber tips on Hotpoint washers and anther couple. And what will that deterioration do to fabrics. I do like also the Cabrio's ability to have a full-fill hot without having to do some option modifications as on the F&P. There is a "Deep Cleaning" option that sounds very similar to the ecoactive phase of the F&P with its concentrated dtergent solution raining down on a slowly rotating drum. The model I saw had an agitator-mounted fabric softener dispenser. Theer's a$100 more model on the web site, but there appeared to be no differentiation with Lowes' minimalist comparison chart. What I do like is the programmability of the F&P with regards to variance of the water temps within the hot, warm, cool and cold ranes. Thus you nkow more of what the temp really is vs. what WP has with their controlled warm & cool wash temps. Also the F&P spins faster. It will be interesting to see how load rollover is with the floating tub & corckscrew top part of the agitator vs. the F&P's action. Frankly, I'd love to see a sxs comparison. All in all, what kicks butt the most is the windowed lid. All-in-all considering, THe F&P and potentially the agitatored Cabrio/Oasis are the top loaders on the market today to opt. for if still wanting a top loader.

At least WP is making the agitator model with a see through glass lid. Very stylish machine. As Bob mentioned previously..i would like to see how this machine works with the DAA. |

This is the more deluxe model my Lowes didn't have. Mine also had a blue agitator, if I remember. This model has a countdown display as well as one or two mroe spin speed options (the button between the soil level on the left and water temps on the right--of the 3 clustered on the left hand side of the options). Wish this model had a flow-thruough softener dispenser so ya didn't have to return to add softener when using the 2nd rinse option.

It will be interesting to see if WP will phase out the porcelain coated washbaskets. If they do i hope it is SS and not the plastic baskets. |

Funny how the doors look like they took a page from Maytag's Neptune styling book, the way they turn to lap over the front (washer) or top edge (dryer). |

Does Wp offer the wash plate model along with the agitator models? Or is it only the agi models that are out? Little confused here. |

I was just at Lowe's in suburban St. Louis (Maplewood); they don't have it here, but the salesman said that it was actually a F & P machine w/the Whirlpool name on it. |

If the agitator is mounted the same as the typicall DD agitator, can't you install a single action agit in it's place? I bet that would make an interesting washer. |

Kind of looks like a cross between a direct drive Whirlpool and a Fisher & Paykel. I wonder if this machine is a joint effort. I'm guessing it is probably devoid of the usual Whirlpool mechanism. |
