Priced right, even as a leaker.

What really is the purpose of the lower fins on the double-duty surgilator? I cannot see a benefit to them being there.

Promote better rollover in 18lb machines ... Double-Duty wasn't used on belt-drive standard-capacity machines.

Also,Possibly holds clothes away from the bottom holes in the tub for better drainage?

WPs Double-Duty Agitator for Belt Drive Washers

This agitator was an amazing performer, it was incredible how much better this agitator turned over big loads compared to the standard Surgulator they used the year before in their Super Capacity washers.

DD Surgilator

Has anyone swapped this agitator out and fitted it into a larger capacity tub? I know there are members/enthusiasts who swap agitators out and fit into other machines. I'm just wondering what
becomes of performance if you move this agitator, if possible, to a larger capacity tub or...is that basically a scaling issue...where the agitator needs to 'grow' in scale to be as effective?

I don't know the details of whether this machine I posted is the largest capacity tub that was fitted with this DD Surgilator, but..thinking along the experimentation line, if it did such a good job turning over clothes in this tub, what would it do in other, possibly larger tubs? Again, I'm imagining things I have no experience with, but curiosity keeps me alive. :-)

There was no larger-capacity tub for belt-drive machines.

Thanks Glenn.

I guess that kills the idea that one could take this agitator to another platform(brand) and test the performance in a larger capacity machine. I know the group here swaps agitators out, so that's where I was going with it.

When my neighbor V. got a new Kenmore washer sometime in the 80's to replace her '72 Kenmore 800, she didn't like the Dual Action agitator for some reason. She soon had it replaced with the Whirlpool Super Surgilator (which she liked much more).
