Well....the other day while I was using it, the machine started to squeal, just a little, and then a lot.

I turned it off and have taken it's skirt off. The pump seems to have become very misaligned. So I took it off too.

This is the second pump in the last 4 years that I have had to replace. Always, right from the get go, the pump valve would either leak out of the drain hose during wash OR leak out the filter during spin. I'm wondering if the wig wag does not move the lever enough for the valve to seal??

I have been using "standard" 3 port pumps.

Were these manufactured to use a "special" pump. Since my model is an Inglis...the model number does not come up on anyones part lists.

I'm borrowing a picture from one of our members that looks to be an exact match to mine.

WP compact belt drive washer pumps

All these washers used the standard 3 port BD washer pump. WP stopped making these pumps at least a 1/2 dozen years ago, there are some after market pumps out there and even WP was selling a pump for BD washers that was made in Israel. These non WP built pumps are not very good and this may be your problem. If you post a good picture of the troublesome pump I can tell you who made it.

Had two of those pumps NIB

Purchased as back-ups when owned a harvest gold WP compact "portable/convertible" washer. Never needed them and sold one to a member a few years ago. Still have the other along with a bunch of other NIB parts. If interested let me know and will see what is in the stash.

Have no use for them as sold the washer onto another member to make room for the AEG Oko-Lavamat and Lavatherm set.

"pumps were made by FSP"

Factory
Specified
Parts

Is Whirlpool appliance parts division. Though have seen (and purchased) parts from Gemline that were same.

Whirlpool gave the name FSP (IIRC) because it meant replacement parts were made to same specs, standards and so forth as originals. Sort of how Miele makes parts for their appliances.

WP Washer Pumps

combo52's profile picture

Hi Guy, just because the pumps came in FSP boxes does not mean they were made by WP, as I mentioned in my post WP sourced pumps from Israel that were terrible, if I saw a good picture of the offending pump I could tell if it was a real WP pump.

Here is a pic

of the pump I removed. Now that I look more carefully, I also need a new belt.

Laundress...If you do want to get rid of your pump, contact me using the e-mail listed of my profile. Let me know what you want for it.

Belts?

launderess's profile picture
Have those as well, new in package.

Again thought was going to give the machine a total over haul, so laid in supplies. As it turned out the washer and I didn't get on, then came the Lavamat so that was that.

Give me bit to find where things are stashed and see what there is. Know sold one pump to a member but still have the another, a box of NIB bits (seals and so forth), and one or more belts.

WP compact belt drive washer pumps

Hi, that does not look like a real WP pump, and it has the wrong pulley on it for the the type of belt your washer uses. If it were a real WP pump it will have FSP molded into the plastic pump body next to the WP Part #
