Hey, I picked up the 59/60 D-1000 that brainardcooper had yesterday. It's beautiful. You can see a link to his original thread below. Seems to have potential, if I can figure out how to get that timer to work right. I realize It's a shot in the dark, but does anyone happen to have a knob and dial glass for one of these? I've included a shot of combo52s (picture 5) to get an idea of what I'm looking for. I'll be talking to you in the coming months John for repair advice and possible pictures of the dial glass for reproduction. Now I just need to find the L-1000 to match. Maybe one day...
I also picked up a 1958 D-112 which I intended for parts, but may go to Tyler (glhturbo2) to add to his collection. It's dirty, but not in bad shape. It has a bad timer, but supposedly works. CLICK HERE TO GO TO Classiccaprice's LINK This post was last edited 05/28/2017 at 21:39 |

Good luck with your rare find! From what I can tell, the 'time-line' timer was used from 1958-1960, though the rotating drum on the D-1000 has slightly different graphics than my 1960 dryer. You might want to check the shaft on the blower wheel, as I had a problem with mine coming loose from where it presses into the wheel. Super glue fixed that quick! Keep us posted with your progress
