This ad had to have been after 1966 when these models they mention were in production. Having gone to a Catholic high school myself, I do remember that my high school had Maytag washer and dryer sets for the home economic class, the cafeteria area and living areas of both the Nuns and Christian brothers. That school was built in 1959-1960 and had the Highlander model sets. When I graduated in 1974 they still had the set in the home economics area and from what one of the nuns told me, they had just replaced the one the Nuns used constantly with a GE set because of some sort of special school plan deal that GE gave them. The same Nun who told me all about the wonders of Maytag washers and dryers also told me about the wonderful Hobart/Kitchenaid dishwasher they had too. She was in charge of the home economics area. Maytag were very dependable machines and anyone who has had a Maytag washer and dryer usually would NEVER buy anything other brand again. They were not called the dependability people for nothing.

same here,

though not high school. It became too expensive, and it was just across the road, so we heard all the stories about the dope and drinking going on.
Seemed the sisters couldn't stop the perpetual indulgence.
probably why it closed.
maybe it's the parents faults also. Mine told me to do construction things like Madea (Tyler Perry). I had a paper route, then a job by age 16.
I got invited to parties, when I said I was working the weekend, I got asked why?
I said well, adults work, thats why. the world doesn't owe you a living.
My folks would have tossed me out on my ears.
