I just posted a great 34 page comparison manual to the Ephemera Library created by Maytag in about 1983 to compare their Washers and Dryers to all the other major competitors of the time. Also includes complete information on current models of the time with full specifications and control panel views.
Maytag vs... Whirlpool/Kenmore GE/Hotpoint/JC Penny Frigidaire/White Westinghouse Speed Queen Topics include: Basic Maytag Automatic Washer Features Comparison of Capacity & Water Usage Washing Action Comparison Cabinet Finish Comparison Hinge Comparison Service Access Comparison Low Post Drive Drive System Comparison Hose Comparison Drum Finish Comparison Air Seal Comparison Rear Drum Support Comparison Front Drum Support Comparison Idler Pulley Comparison Belt Drive Comparison Door Insulation Comparison Heating Element Air Flow Comparison |

I have one of those brochures somewhere, given to me in 1984 by the Maytag dealer that sold me the 511 washer and 410 dryer. Did some scatter rugs in the 511 today and after nearly 35 years, it still performs flawlessly with only a new motor coupling and belts in all that time. The repairman told me to never get rid of them as you will never find anything today as good as them.
