This is definitely a brand I have never heard of. It looks suspiciously like a Jacob's Launderall machine though.

I'll bet Rinso detergent whipped up a lot of suds in that machine--which I agree is Australian. Don't think they switched their currency to dollars 'til well into the 1960s.

Now that the lid often takes up all (or nearly all) of the top of a washer, the small lid and opening on this Malleys seems extra petite.

Yes, it is obviously not something we had here in the US by the price indicated. I do wonder if it was like an old Launderall machine. It appears to be. It also resembles an old Blackstone in appearance too.

Rinso & Malleys

Rinso was excellent.. made by Unilever in Sydney. It had the BEST scent too. My Nan used Rinso in her twin tub on boil ... memories.

Malleys went on to become Malleys Whirlpool.... Dame Edna did the adverts in '70s.... the catch cry "Guess whos mum has a Whirlpool!
