I've seen this poor RR keep getting relisted on ebay and fear it'll probably get tossed. I'm not sure if we have any members near Great Falls, but this would be a unique machine to pick up at a great price. The condition appears to be outstanding! It does note non-working but that should be an easy fix.
Here's what makes it unique- It's an RR-4D that can be set to run on 120V or 240V depending on internal transformer taps. The timer dials show it was on 50Hz previously, and these are neat because they were designed for the RR-2 but carried over to the 3H and 4. A set of standard 4D timer inserts could be swapped in for better accuracy, but these are pretty cool. CLICK HERE TO GO TO cadman's LINK on eBay

Phil, it sure looks like the stamp says '77, and if you start Blackhorse with '71, then that looks like an O on the serial plate (there's some debate if you start with 70 or 71).
You'll note the brown case which jibes with that timeframe, which makes this 4ETW all the cooler. I don't think Amana's other models that year would work on 50Hz due to internal electronics so this was Amana's solution. |
