A few years ago GE took Frigidaires and stuck their logo on them, some of the front loaders and stacked units....and why Maytag took Samsungs and stuck their logo on them. Asko did it too. It's probably cheaper to re-badge than engineer their own, or Haier is buying something in return that Frigidaire has and is putting their name on it (or GE or F&P).
It happens all the time in industry and business. Recently found out about a new Infiniti (Nissan) vehicle that's actually built by Mercedes-Benz, and also about a new Mercedes pickup (not sold here in NA) that's being built by Nissan. The world is getting smaller. |
