Looks like Frigidaire really did their homework compared to other brands. This is hands down the best modern belt driven top load washer I've seen. Quiet motor, good water level AND good wash action. In fact it also gives you a full tub wash and rinse on the normal cycle....

...that being said I don't think the water level goes any lower than...to the top of the agitator, Frigidaire really wasn't joking with the "max fill" option, to add the fill is not painfully slow either, and it actually appears to also have a shorter "heavy" cycle than a lot of competitors. This IMO is a definite improvement over the Frigidaire Affinity TL's.

I . AM . IMPRESSED .

They kinda have a "GE" feel to them.......but better!
Interested in learning more about these.
I sorta ran away from anything Frigidaire before.....but this is interesting.

These are Haier made. Look at the Haier site. Same machines.

Dumb question:

mark_wpduet's profile picture
but why would a company (Electrolux) who owns Frigidaire and actually produces washing machines for their brands contract out to another company to make washing machines....

Haier is not my cup of tea, but if they can perform, I am all for it.

Mark, same reason that...

askolover's profile picture

A few years ago GE took Frigidaires and stuck their logo on them, some of the front loaders and stacked units....and why Maytag took Samsungs and stuck their logo on them.  Asko did it too.  It's probably cheaper to re-badge than engineer their own, or Haier is buying something in return that Frigidaire has and is putting their name on it (or GE or F&P).

It happens all the time in industry and business.  Recently found out about a new Infiniti (Nissan) vehicle that's actually built by Mercedes-Benz, and also about a new Mercedes pickup (not sold here in NA) that's being built by Nissan.  The world is getting smaller.

How strange top load automatic washers have become...BUT this is better than most.

Creating a whole supply chain is far more expensive then to just buy machines by the shipping container.

Frigidaire Affinity

The sound of that washer I rather like. It's a kind of musical 'wishy-washy' action - quite soothing.

Although there doesn't appear to be much roll-over action watching at normal speed, moving the video time-slider on a bit, shows that there is a degree of clothes movement.

I liked that machine's saturation of the load by three different methods: waterfall flume at the back, the multi-point ring jets, and the dynamic spin bursts that stir the water upwards in the outer tub, causing it to cascade back down through the holes in the drum.

And then I looked on the internet...

... and saw people castigating the Affinity!

Nice idea, poorly executed it would seem.

I always knew

Kenmore's were just re-badged LG's or Whirlpool's.... OR that a Maytag or Kitchenaid is just a re-badged WP... Or a hotpoint is a re-baged GE... I just didn't know that the companies actually switched up like that, like if I go buy a certain model Whirlpool, it could be made by Electrolux.....

Coincidence when the Frigidaire's released, the Haier equivalents...were discontinued?

Mark, when the time does arrive, we'll help you make sure you get a WP product and not something else that has a WP or Maytag label on it.

Those machines use plenty of water, but the agitation is kind of weak. A Speed Queen would out perform all of those washers, that is for sure! I will credit the manufacturers for making a HE top load washer have a deep fill wash and rinse.
