Hi Sam

I have a copy of the 1993 service data book which lists your machine along with several others. It's quite lengthy so are you after anything specific as I'm not sure when I will get time to scan the whole thing?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply, a full scan would be of great interest to me, though I fully appreciate that your time to complete such a task is limited.

The A3954 has been giving sterling service as a second machine for us, but I've always had this nagging feeling that the water levels for the main wash and rinse are not where they should be. So any info on water levels, pressure switch and its adjustment would be useful.

I've checked the pressure tube both ends and blown it through with compressed air and all appears clear. I'm finding that sometimes the machine requires a gentle thud to the side with ones hand to coax it into its second or third fill after absorption so perhaps the diaphragm (if it has one) in the pressure switch is getting stiff with old age. Seeing the book figures for levels etc would really clarify if there is a problem or not.

Also it's starting to get a bit sensitive with the O.O.B function tripping but maybe that's just coincidence with some large loads that have gone through it recently!

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Sam

There's nothing specific on the water levels but I've taken a few pics of the bits that might be useful. These service guides are not as comprehensive as the older ones unfortunately.

I hope this helps. I'll try and take the book into work to scan when I'm back in.

Hi Steve,

Thanks once again for the reply, interesting reading.

One thing I would like to do is run the machine through the Functional Test, but would like some guidance on setting the timer into `test mode'.

In the service manual page you took a picture of it states, link the red and yellow test leads or if not fitted insert bridging connector into socket row 16-17, I don't have either.

The timer wiring diagram which I have a copy of states that pin outs 16B, 16H & 17H are for machine test, which of the three do I link?

Looking at the timer it also has pin outs 17N, 17B, 16N, 16C on socket row 16-17.

Hi Sam

I had forgotten so thanks for the reminder. I have the builders in at the moment so will have to remember to find and dig out the book and scan. It might have more info on the test connections as it's something I haven't done before. I'm guessing you only need a wire with spade connectors on either end that you use to bridge out the connections. Will try and fish it out at the weekend
