I think it may have been red originally, and is just now badly faded.

Yup.

Definitely used to be Red. Hobart would never paint anything Pink.

That has to be around the 20's though 50"s anyways.

Weird this ad shows up as I am testing Vintage KitchenAid Coffee Grinders tonight for a friend that had given to them a bag O' Coffee Beans that need to be ground.

4 Grinders waiting : )

At the condition the grinder is in-may $15 instead of $150.Don't even know if it works.

As anyone who has worn carmine lipstick, deep reds often fade to shades of pink.

From Launderss picture the grinder being has missing parts-the chrome hopper-and the red bottom container to recive the ground coffee.I would have to assume there is no belt on this-the grinder flywheel is driven by a capstan on the motor shaft. And could this be hand cranked?Put a crank on the flywheel and turn by hand. Some meat grinders can work this way.The flywheel on the meat grinder has a groove in it for a belt to a motor.

Thanks for the completed unit, Lauderess. This is just one neat-looking(cool)coffee grinder.

Would require a full restoration for sure. Pity it is missing the hopper.

Would be nice for those that like the smell of hot oil to accompany their morning coffee!
