This looks like a reversa jet, with a night light. Can’t get it to post with my I phone!

Now there's a unique machine

bajaespuma's profile picture

Who would have manufactured this for O'Keefe and Merritt? It's nifty and I love that interior blue, of course. Please don't tell me this is an early D&M machine. And a toggleswitch on the control panel?!?!?

I think this is actually a Tappan! Nice machine, and I don't think it was made for very long! It would be nice if someone would get this beauty!

This Is A Real Tappan

combo52's profile picture
And from the few we ever saw they were not much better than a D&M, but this one would be cool to have in the Dishwasher wall in the Museum, If someone wants to get it for the museum I will gladly pay for the machine and their costs of getting it.

You don't say

bajaespuma's profile picture

Does this mean it has the spinning Fred Flintstone roller-impeller under the bottom rack?

Reversa Jet

Isn't this a Reversa-Jet with the rubber band set up to spin the wash arm in two directions?  Our neighbor across the street had one.

I wouldn't take it away from John (completely respect first dibs)...but if that doesn't work out I can drive out there in few weeks and get it if someone could store it.

Tappan!

peteski50's profile picture
I got a few scans from the Tappan and its a look a like! I think the switch next to the dial is for a panel light!

O'Keefe and Merritt

ovrphil's profile picture
So it's a Tappan rebadged as an O'Keefe & Merritt? How do you guys keep up with so many different manufacturers and relabelled appliances! :-/

Peteski 50..I'm a nostalgia freak for the ads as much as the products.I love the advertisement of back when...nothing like them today exists.

Seller contacted

william637's profile picture
John and I spoke (thanks John!) And I have contacted the seller. We will see if they respond and/or they still have it. I have no notions that it is a good cleaning machine, so at least I won't ever be disappointed. But...it is an interesting design. I think it will fit nicely into this display which has just a few more weekends of sheetrock work before I start painting and installing...

Seller has responded. This machine will be saved. Looks like I am Missouri bound on Thursday evening the 21st.

Neat display!

Will all of the niches be filled?  What is the flooring in that space?  Looks really nice.

Yep

william637's profile picture
I actually have too many to fill the space as it is, so when I am done I will be giving g away donor machines (and some machines it good order). The display room in the picture will house 18 machines..plumbed and wired. The room just beyond will have a sink and a built-in on either side plus space for five portables.

It had been a slow process..I have been working on the rooms for about 3 years now.

The floor is black granite (well black granite with a bunch of sheetrock mud on it right now, lol)

Wow Mark!!  I'm all a tingle.  You know how I feel about dishwashers.  Look forward to when the display is complete and all arranged.

Yay, I am glad you are saving this DW, Your new DW room looks great, it looks like you might get yours done before we get are wall of 22DWs done.

Shouldn't you have a floor drain for the leaky D&M D&Ms

D&M's are my favorite

william637's profile picture
The one that is going to give me a fit is the thermador steam machine....mark my words...and possibly an old Hotpoint.

Mark, you do dishwashers proud, to be quaint/old in phrases. I am impressed and look forward to seeing some of the installed dishwashers. And good luck on your way to and back from Missouri.
