I've been meaning to ask this for a long time-but I just kept putting it off-I was wanting someone to post a video of their belt drive Kenmore washer from the late 1970's-early 1980's going off-balance, tripping the off-balance relay, and the buzzer sounding with the lid open-I haven't heard one in YEARS!

There was a video of one of the wash-ins that has just such a scene. I've looked all over YouTube and this site, and have come up dry. It was recorded by jasonL, I believe.

I would like to see this as well. Never saw a Kenmore with an off balance buzzer. The first automatic my mom had was an early 70's Canadian Kenmore and it definitely didn't have an off balance switch/buzzer. I remember because I used to be scared to death as a kid of it going out of balance... I was afraid that the basket was going to come through the cabinet!

The grandmother's 1970-ish Kenmore 70 had an OOB switch.

Maybe a difference between Canadian and USA built Kenmores?

No experience with machines sold in Canada. But I have wondered if the buzzer wasn't saved for higher end machines, at least some model years. My mothers 1960s LK had a buzzer. But a late 1960s BOL KM I used didn't seem to have a buzzer.
