AD: " Sears Kenmore Portable Dishwasher. Exact year unknown. Works. In excellent condition for its age. It could use a cleaning. All parts, like the silverware caddy, are in tact. This is the kind of dishwasher that hooks up to and drains in the sink. When not in use it can serve as small kitchen island.

History: This dishwasher was removed from an elderly person's home for a kitchen renovation. A local restoration and salvage company removed it. In 2015 a local theater company produced a show that had a LOT of food in it and needed a portable dishwasher for that production. It worked great for that purpose, but the theater company doesn't need it anymore. It's looking for a good home.

It is currently in a safe place out of the elements. Email here if interested. I'll message back and explain the easy pick up."

Actually the inside looks to be in good shape - I think this is a late 60's

I'm glad you posted this. There is one for sale locally at an online auction. Unfortunately, there is only the one picture of the outside:

I have a home remodeling book that has a picture of the built-in version of this dishwasher (Maybe w/ a few more 'piano keys' added) among a number of other built-in Kenmores (including a stow-away hand-mixer) & a Coldspot top freezer refrig'... --All in good ol' Avocado 'Geen'!!!!

low mileage machine

I did not see any rust on the interior and the racks look unused. Would this machine be a impeller machine or is there a wash arm and I just don't see it. Is this a
Lady K machine?

David it is a wash-arm and NOT impeller LK. In fact, the wash arm is just beginning to peak from under the silverware basket in photo #5.

grew up with

a gold one with a butcher block top. No color TV though. I doubt we'd have had a dishwasher if my dad hadn't been in the business. He didn't believe in air conditioned cars then either. He bought a van in 1976 to customize for travel and camping. The Chevy he ordered came in with A/C per the usual sales bait and switch scam. I'm sure the dealer knew it would sell quickly anyway. Vans were hot then.
We tried to get him to take it for the extra $400, as a family camping trip was being planned as soon as the bed, carpet, etc. were installed. Nothing doing. He went to a Dodge dealer, and wouldn't you know, they were unloading an equivalent in color and equipment van as the Chevy he ordered. The salesman told him it was his if he wanted it. He bough it. Dragged us all over Pa., Gettysburg, etc. for two weeks in August with only a small roof fan in it. The side window didn't even open. We roasted. When we stopped at the relatives in Pittsburgh, my aunt said your dads nuts. Depression kids.
