Well I made the last of 18 payments (Interest free) for my SQ FL set. Nice to know I have 3.5 years of warranty left and considering how much I use them about 30-40 years (based on a 25000 cycle life) before I will need a new Daily Driver. Our clothes have never been cleaner, lasted longer or looked as good.

It does sound like SQ is going to sunset their mechanical control models in both TL and FL formats. I prefer electronic controls, especially those on the Maytag 8100 FL set I had at the house. No spongy membrane or pads. You'd touch a hard plastic surface. They were wonderful. I sold all the appliances with the house; besides, the Maytags--which were very deep and on pedestals--would not have fit in the space I have at the apartment.
The top-loading SQ and its dryer mate are a perfect fit and I'll admit to having fun with this vintage-style washer. It's the first time since the mid-1980s that a top-loader has been the daily driver in my laundry room. |
