I'm looking for one of these oven temperature control dials for a 1955-ish GE Stratoliner or Liberator range at a reasonable price. I believe the part number is 461A605G1.
I've located at least one or two of them on eBay but they're asking like $90 for one. The thing is those knobs are meant to work only with the original thermostats which are NLA and pure unobtanium. They aren't compatible with the WB21X5208 or 5209 which superseded the original thermostats or the modern day universal thermostats which is all you can get now unless you buy used or NOS. So, without the original thermostat, those knobs are not all that useful to many people so I'm not sure how they think that a knob that almost nobody has a thermostat to work with it is worth so much money. Yeah, I'm sure they're fairly rare but how much demand is there?
I'm hoping that some kind soul on this forum might just happen to have one kicking around in their spare parts bin and will sell it to me at a much more "reasonable" cost. Please e-mail me if you have one you can offer to sell me. Thanks!
