This little portable washer washer was built by Hitachi for GE.   I got one of these when RedCarpetDrew and I traded a few machines.

Two water levels, one cycle (fill, wash, drain, fill, rinse, drain, fill, rinse, drain, spin), a reversing impeller at the bottom of the tub and a 900 rpm spin.   It was a fun little washer and seemed to clean OK, assuming you did not overload it, which was easy to do.  The thing I didn't like about it is it only spins after the final rinse.

Do any videos exist of these machines? How does the impeller action compare with that of today's HE toploaders?

This is the washer I was referring to in the SQ 2018 line thread.

I had a friend back in the 80s who had one of these and I got to play with it . Was a cool little washer but you really can't load these too full. I'm surprised the tub was porcelain and not plastic or SS. Maybe to keep in line with other GE washers ?

5 lbs of clothes in this washer is pushing it.
