that would have to be our own Ben/Swestoyz.....a great guy if you ever get the chance to meet him...he does some outstanding video footage of machines...
the 50hz setup consist of a motor pulley, and two new belts...best if used on a two speed machine, but can work on a single speed as well.....the agitation is a nice kick, the spin is even better... pulley....Y202496 belt......211948/2-11948 belt......211451/2-11451 not sure who would still have them..... be sure to check out Ben's other vids as well..... |

Okay. You got me at the 50hz pulley set-up. Not knowing all that much about Maytags but always wishing I had had one at some point, how does the agitator sense the load of clothes? I can fully understand the DA agitator but can anyone explain the sensing part? |

Load Sensor....well the spiral usually oscillates with normal agitation, as more pressure is needed to move the load, the spiral starts to ratchet during the CCW stroke, pushing the clothing downward with each stroke...the sensing is also linked to how much turning is needed, sometimes a small stroke, or all the way up to the full oscillation with the base...
the plastic ball bearings that make it function 'adjust' for each load.....sliding up and locking in place with each stroke, only if needed... one of the better DualAction designs.....first of all, there are NO dogs to wear out and need replacing, they are silent in operation...basically in a sealed, non serviceable unit, never had to service any one of mine.... but I did take one apart to see how it functions.... with this 50hz setup.....as with the LoadSensor, the straight vane agitator out of an Orbital trans unit works quite well also |
