actually a nice matched pair, brand new......for 1000.00....that's half of what my local dealer is asking for a pair....

not an actually sold by a SQ dealer, wonder if the warranty would still hold...

even if you purchased a used pair, is the warranty transferrable?....

*Cash Only*

In case anyone is considering just wanted to point out that bit for emphasis.

Suppose being NIB carries less risk, but myself wouldn't be comfortable handing over $1K in cash for appliances without some firm guarantees.

????

You need to very carefully read that ad again. That isn't what I get out of it. The front load washer alone is $1000, the other machines are additional.

Think you are correct

Advert is all over the place.

Headline says "washer and dryer for $1000", but then the copy lists various machines with prices.

Seems there is a washer alone for sale at $1000. Everything else is a la carte so to speak. You surely are not getting a washer and dryer for the amount listed in headline.

Still stand by my original statement however, would want to know more and have some sort of guarantee before plunking down several hundred dollars cash.

Have never paid "cash" even for Craiglist finds; always via Paypal which in turn came from charge card.

.
Yes there is a traditional pair and the FL machine, everything seems to be priced separately.

Hope they are not "hot"!

I agree with 'tolivac'

My first thought was that they were obtained through dishonesty in some form. I'd sure want to know how they came into the seller's possession.

If you buy them----will the police come knocking on your door wanting to recover them for the orig owner and you get caught with stolen goods!

I sent an email with a few questions...waiting for a response....

as my brother needing a set for his new house, it's worth inquiring!

curious, how many people have model and serial number written for everything they own in case of loss...ie, robbery, fire....

most of my valuable equipment has my DL number etched on them.....the police may not be able to track model/serial for most stuff, but they can find me with a DL#....you don't have to keep records of everything, only one number, and its in your wallet!

nothing like finding your video camera in a pawn shop....I didn't need to run home and check the numbers, it was written on there....police love that stuff

one more thing of curiosity....with buying/selling on CL or ebay and such...

what are appropriate questions to be asked or answered when it comes to an ad???....

why are you selling it?
how much did you pay for it?
where did you get it from?

and yeah, I had the question asked if it was stolen.....

to most of this stuff, if your so concerned of all this stuff, then why are you on CL?....you should go to Lowes and buy brand new....that is one of the reasons you pay a high price....

and the best one, why do I have so many machines in my laundryroom?.....

the answer to most of this stuff is, NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS!

are you here to buy a dishwasher, or case the joint?.....most times I have the item outside with the garage doors closed....

Not entirely sure

launderess's profile picture
But from limited view of background seems as if there are other appliances. Perhaps the seller is a dealer and is looking to move on stock that otherwise isn't selling.

Another angle on the "cash only" demand is that seller is avoiding collecting PA sales tax.

If they were stolen, the original purchaser should have a receipt with model and serial #.

Hardly think these units are "stolen"

If so the price would be much lower to reflect need to move something on rather quickly.
