"I have an older model Hotpoint Automatic Washer.
Heavy Duty and extra large capacity.
It still has the tags on it. It is in new condition but has been sitting for 20+ years uninstalled."

BBW, no picture, but the price is right....

Dryer advert?

launderess's profile picture
Not that one noticed.

Generally am always searching for "washing machines" as have no need of another dryer. Have two and that is more than enough. So unless the dryer is listed with a washing machine generally don't bother.

Only "dryer" am truly on the hunt for is a small commercial spin dryer like Bock or American Montex.

Nice find Laundress. If it was in San Diego I would snap it up.

If truly NIB $50 is a very good price

But seller needs to upload actual pictures if truly wants to sell.

For those interested there is always the possibility of reaching out to a member who lives locally and see if he or she will assist. Sometimes this works out, others not so good.

Finally if seller would accept Paypal there is always Uship or whatever. Likely wouldn't be inexpensive, but there you are then.

I called on this ad and talked to a very nice older lady, her daughter put the ad up for her. The older lady said she had used it but very little. I asked for pics also and she said she couldn't and I would have to wait until her daughter comes back for Christmas. She also said she would have her brother come over this week and her would call me. I'm not really interested in the washer but I am in the dryer she has listed. If they can get some pics to me I'll post them.

I will probably be heading there for the dryer this weekend so..... I will be heading from Massachusetts to there if anyone is interested, I have room for the washer. If it's between there and here I got no problem doing that.

Ok, now one sees

Advert was revised to say seller is offering up a dryer.

Dryer advert shows a Maytag dryer seller is also claiming is "new".

@Tazz

Good for you taking the time to contact seller and get more information. Am sure many in the group appreciate.

I definitely want the dryer. I bought a avocado one, same model and it's pretty much doa, if you look down a bit I already posted a want it ad for this same dryer. The lady went downstairs for me to tell me a bit more about the dryer and I had her plug it in and try it though it's not hooked up to gas it still should spin and she said it's not so....... We'll see. Oh and I don't mind helping someone out if I can.

I'm heading there Saturday morning to get the dryer and I'll definitely get pics and more info on the washer. If anyone from my area is interested which is western Massachusetts/surrounding area I should have room on the trailer.

Went there this afternoon and I didn't take it any pics of the washer cause it isn't worth it. Definitely not new and yes it still has the energy star stickler on the it. Opened the lid and rust stains on top to bottom. It is used but not a lot. She was asking fifty for the MT DG606 that was there which was supposedly new to..... Nope, typical pilot light corrosion and then when I opened it up and pulled out the lint filter (which had never been cleaned) and I showed her the squirrel nest in the wheel, was kind of funny. I offered her twenty bucks for it and before I was done saying it she said yes so home I was came with it.

Good Work

launderess's profile picture
Am sure many appreciate the leg work done. Congrats on at least coming away with the dryer for less money than planned.

Really do dislike when CL or other such sellers don't put good and clear photos in adverts. Petrol isn't cheap nor is people's time.....

That being said have long since learned what one considers "NIB" versus others varies considerably. *LOL*

I drove from Springfield MA out to Syracuse for this twenty dollar dryer, cost me more in gas for sure and a nice snow storm on the way home. I also picked up a DG107 on the way there for thirty bucks, I really just wanted the electronic ignition to convert this pilot on over so not a total loss.

That's great

I do the same, don't mind driving for them, Try to find more along the way to buy, doesn't always workout, but its fun.
