Hi folks,

I was recently asked to complete and online survey regarding some new technology from Persil. Iím not sure at what stage of development this is in, but it certainly looks like an interesting concept.

Regarding Persil Smartwash...

What a complete crock of shit! About as much use as those internet connected appliances.

Unnecessary extra technology just for the sake of it. It will no doubt 'cost a bomb' to buy, and probably be overwhelmingly expensive to buy the cartridges. The dispensing/mixing mechanism will probably jam and clog too.

It was probably 'cooked up' by some uneducated team of graduates, who've never even washed their own clothes. About as much use as those Persil Power Lentils.

Regarding the machine dispensing non-bio liquid: what the bloody hell is the point?! Which? said last year that the best liquid on test was Persil BIO liquid!

Bottom line? Just use a decent quality bio powder in the first place. End of.

It's probably an extension of this device...

Read the first post. Itís from a survey conducted by Unilever. I donít know what stage of development itís at.

Rolls - as I said, itís in development. A lot of the questions on the survey were about what detergents you use for different loads. This could change a lot based on the market research being carried out.

Also, thereís nothing yet to say if this will use powder or liquid. As for the bio element, itís likely that one of the other cartridges will contain some sort of enzyme mix for stain removal.

Just another gimmick. I no longer like Persil because the fragrance smells awful particularly the colour liquid. I am converted to Seventh Generation so hopefully Tesco continue to stock it.

I Agree

with some of our UK members-this is crap. Just another excuse to get people to toss money away on gimmicks.

Sad part is, younger people these days are getting further removed from the women who really understood laundry and what worked, and on a budget at that. We see it in our modern washers with umpteen silly little 'programs', we're seeing it in small electrics for the kitchen, we're seeing it in dishwashers. Why? Because it's a hell of a lot easier and cheaper to make these electronic toys than to perform true engineering. This is an outgrowth of people having so much disposable income--no matter what they claim.

Thanks for the funny video!
