Per the ad: "This is a mint condition item. It runs as quiet as a sewing machine and hasn't any exterior or interior damage. Looks as it did the day it was manufactured. I also have all the paper work from the instruction manual to a mail in advertisement. A unique item for the right buyer or collector."

Hi Lawrence, you are correct GE did not sell a compactor till around 1970 and their orignal design was stolen from WP and GE lost the court battle and came out with these round bucket models around 1974.
This is a nice example of a GE round bucket, but I don't think it is worth more than a $100 and in Mississippi they will probably be lucky to get more than $35 for it.

Wow! We had a GE compactor just like this when I was a brat! I think ours was a 1975 model as it appeared in the kitchen not long after a harvest gold range and refrigerator were purchased in late 1974. I remember the arguments over which colour panel to display - gold to match the range & fridge or coppertone to match the dishwasher. |
