The tube is probably unrestorable(?)...but it's still a classy looking unit.

I can't make out the brand on this.  The picture tube is probably fine.  It's the capacitors that have likely gone bad.  Not a difficult thing to bring back to life for someone with the necessary expertise, but they need to knock off around $300 from the price.

It's a Magnavox. And a 1950 model, not a 49. And vastly overpriced.

Ebay and some other prior sales histories might be the source of the far-flung pricing.

Louis - do you happen to have an ad or catalog description of this model?

Hmmm, I don't think so. Perhaps something similar. Let me check.

I'll be damned, found it. The model is called "The Wedgewood". Retailed for $469.50.

Actually, I thought it was a 1949 model. :-)

I like those old Maggies from 1949-51. The closer to 1951, the better.

Those Windsors....especially...are works of art.

Thanks Louis - found it!

Yes,recap the unit-and for the screen-appears that both the safety glass screen over the CRT screen will need cleaning.Shouldn't be that hard to do.The TT will most likely need to have the idler tire cleaned-replaced and the motor lubed-same with the TT mechanism.Once restored-this would be a nice unit.Would be perfect for watchin g old shows on.The case looks like its in fine shape-had some care.
