The Maytag Centennials we got in Australia had a SS bowl on the TOL model. The rest of them were enamel. It was one of the ways they differentiated themselves from the Whirlpool |

There was a Maytag DD model with a SS basket. I have MTW5800T noted and 8579546 as a part number for the basket (NLA). Maybe there were others. Here's a thread, someone replaced a porcelain DD basket with the SS version. |

It's a WP. Will be approaching the original dealer, this week. Not sure how cooperative they will be, since I'm a civilian (not a certified repairman.) |

Yes, believe that is one of them. Wonder if there's a number we're supposed to call for the warranty. Bought mine before the Speed Queen (same dealer.) |

Just try to call the recent WP service number and tell them what you want, maybe for once they will be good for anything... |

The replacement wash basket will be covered by the orignal washers tubs life-time warranty, The warranty statement that came with the washer did not say anything about your only being allowed one replacement.
The Only way WP can get out of this warranty is by giving you a new washer and taking the old machine away and scrapping it.

I'm sure you're right; but, right now, I feel fortunate that a nearly $200 part will be heading this way based on my word, alone.
In the meantime, I'll be digging for my seldom-used spanner wrench.
Thanks, again, for the tip!
