Compared to GE control panels of the 50s and early 60s, these, to me, are just horribly ugly. All brands went to slanted control panels in the early-mid 60s, but of the major brands, GE panels were the most lacking in attractive appearance, except for their upper models.

I tend to prefer the vertical control panel design. I don't really like the early 1970s Whirlpools with the elevated and heavily slanted control panels. The mid 1970s to 1986 belt drive styling I do like.
