Is my Speed Queen dryer supposed to have a lint filter cover? Watched a few reviews of Speed Queen dryers and saw they had a lint filter cover. Wondering if mine is supposed to have one and was left out during installation. Photos are example of cover I'm talking about and last one is of my model and serial info. Thanks.

I believe that they eliminated including those as of last year or 2016. I presume you can special order one.

no longer provide the trap cover?

what do they use to keep small items from landing in the lint trap, blocking airflow and also said items from getting all "linty?" I've left mine off by mistake and it isn't pretty when I do.

that cage was there only for when unloading, as clothing was dragged out across the filter, and grabbing onto the lint, and covering your freshly laundered items with lint....

without it, you sort of have to train yourself, clean lint filter before unloading...

there was another thread on this a while back, not sure where they were able to find replacements....

Thanks. More worried about getting a sock or something in there that blocks the lint filter than getting a little lint on clothes when taking them out. PWS has them but shipping is a lot for a little item so I'll check locally to see if somebody can bring one in.

Yet another reason why I despised SQ dryers in all my former apartment complex life...... (eyeroll).
And now they stop providing those for home machines?

My 9 Series dryer did not come with one. The same dryer purchased a couple of months later in Sioux Falls, SD for my sister had one. I ordered the cover from Amazon. It was definitely worth the extra cost. Something would always drop onto the lint as soon as the door was opened.

a lot of manufacturers used this type of filter set-up....

GE for one.....

the large Square door of GE, and White-Westinghouse with the round door openings had ones screwed in place, but they were a thinner and deeper slot, as only your fingers would fit down inside to slide across to remove the lint....

but always did find dryer softener sheets would get sucked into this type of setup...

Thanks for the replies. Odd that Speed Queen would eliminate what's probably a $0.50 part unless there was a design change that made it redundant. Appliance Parts Co website shows one locally but I'll call next week before heading over to make sure it's not ghost stock. PWS shows it but besides shipping charges I don't know if they actually stock anything or just drop ship from Alliance but do know they never want to take anything back.
