Do you remember the crown on the turquoise agitator cap starting with the 1958 model? The crown was a symbol Frigidaire used over many years to elevate the status of the women using their appliances. It has nothing to do with your monarchy. There is a recurring POD with the 1960 Custom Imperial where the woman is shown wearing a crown. For years, Imperial was the TOL model and then Custom Imperial so the crown fit right in with the word imagery. American culture has used "Queen of the Kitchen" or "Queen of her Home" many times to refer to the wife, mother and head of the distaff side of the family.

BTW, that ad ran with a card in magazines; I remember it was a Readers' Digest where I saw it. You were instructed to take the card to a Frigidaire Dealer to see if you had won one of the prizes and if you did not, you registered by filling out the back with your name, etc for a drawing for an appliance of your selection. I remember asking mom what appliance she would like and since we had one of everything, she said, "a new stove," which started me on the campaign to get a new electric range.  I remember telling her at the time, "You know that a Frigidaire range is electric," but it did not matter to her, probably because she knew we were not going to win anyway. That took over 3 years, but eventually I wore her down and we got the GE.
