As the question asks: has anyone tried Persil "Extra Fresh Linen?"

A local store has a very attractive price that, if coupled with a coupon, will reduce the price to what All goes for when All is on sale at that store. The Persil is very tempting, since it should be a better detergent than All. But I'm wondering about whether the scent is too potent. The original Persil was a bit much, I thought, and I wonder if the word "Extra" in "Extra Fresh Linen" means that it will really have even more potent scent...

Use? No.

But took a sniff when spied a bottle at local supermarket.

Smell was nice enough one supposes, but am that full of detergents that couldn't justify purchasing another.

I use the "Intense Fresh". I almost want to make this my only detergent but I have heard that using just liquid detergents are not as good for the spider assembly or for avoiding buildup on the outer drum of a front loader as it doesn't rinse as easily as a powder, so we use commercial grade Huracan 40 powder to balance things out (plus a monthly clean cycle, and plenty of hot wash/bleach cycles and religiously leaving the door wide open after the washer is done for the day). I'd say a fair 50/50 mix of powder and liquid loads shouldn't be hard on the machine *if* you dose the detergent right (i.e., use less than the manufacturer suggestion).

Anyways, make triple sure that you start your dosage off really small, like 1 Tbsp. for normal loads, 2-2.5 Tbsp. for soiled loads, maybe 3. Persil is very potent and a little goes a long way. Also, be extra vigilant with loads containing foam or fill, Persil liquid does have a tendency to foam up if you don't watch your dosage. Other than that, Persil is by far the best performing liquid I have tried.

Extra fresh linen-Please report your findings

LordKenmore as you say it is on offer at a bargain price I hope you can give us a first hand report. I have not seen this scent in Vancouver Canada but hope it is more subtle than original scent. I find that the Procaps Original Scent is lighter than liquid original. Our selection here is less than Stateside- I have not seen Sensitive Liquid here- but we do still have PowerPearls although the package size has shrunk from 50 to 37 loads, still at the same price though-$12.99 Canadian for both 37 load Pearls and 48 load liquid at the Canadian Tire large stores. Usually I buy unscented or natural scented detergents but the mystique and promise of Persil has led me to buy Persil products almost exclusively the last year or so. Maybe I will have to make a trip to Bellingham WA. for the fresh linen scent, which store carries it? Launderess, spring is coming, maybe some of your stored linens could have a quick wash with this Extra Fresh Linen under the guise of spring cleaning?!! Not that I want to make more work for you, but! Patiently waiting for the first user report to be posted, someone here must be nearly out of detergent? I know Launderess is not but someone? LK,thank you for letting us know about this new version of Persil.

No kidding! I discovered this with a small sampler bottle of Persil ("Original Scent") I got at Target a few months back.

No  idea who might reliably have it in Bellingham. I found it at a Fred Meyer south of Seattle--but it's a clearance item. It may be discontinued at just that one store, or it may be all Fred Meyers. It also is possible it'll come back at some point--I've noticed other times a detergent gets cleared out, but reappears a week later. (I've assumed in that sort of case that it's getting rid of old stock to prepare for a reformulation or other change.)

I did a fast check and saw that Walmart carries this, and it's stocked some stores, but apparently not in Bellingham. But perhaps it can be ordered shipped to the store.

Say what one will about eBay, when the price is lower and the shipping is free for brand new goods, I have no trouble hitting "Buy It Now," especially when Amazon either does not offer or is out of stock. I would a lot rather drive my office chair in front of my computer than drive my car from store to store wishing, hoping, looking and planning to buy.
