I was looking for vintage washing machines and was ultimately unsuccessful but I did find this cool calculator. Appears this unit was built overseas sometime in the 60 or 70s. The plug isn’t grounded and the ends of the wire are exposed. Otherwise it’s in great condition. Heavy too haha. Anyone know anything about Addo?

That's an adding machine.  I'm pretty sure it can't do square root or anything complex, althoug the "X" might mean it can multiply.  At one time, I was pretty fast on one of those things.  Not an Addo-X, but same key placements.   Lots of help wanted ads used to require the ability to use a "10 key by touch."

One of the reasons telephone touchpads were given a reverse layout is because they thought people who knew a 10-key by touch would be too fast for the switching equipment to keep up.

Looks early mid 60's to me.. Addo-x was a Swedish company and they were bought out in the mid 60's by Swedish company Facit who made adding machines and typewriters.. What name is on the serial plate,, just Addo-x or Facit or Facit Addo-x ?

If anyone thought the washing machine industry takeovers were confusing that's nothing compared to the office machine, typewriter company takeovers etc.
