Hello all! I am new to this forum! I have been looking into maytag wringer washers for around 2 months and have been looking for the one I want, which would be the turquoise E2LPS. I have found a similar one in my area that is the E2LP with a red agitator, and I was wondering if anyone had any clear pictures of the inside? I could only find pics online of not the best quality or not close up enough. I want to see what the agitator looks like in detail. Thank you!

This is the best I could find by searching old threads (I know there are fans of the red gyrator here, so they can advise if there's much of a difference between the two colors).

Turquoise wringer release bar and agitator?

Note that the models with the red release bar came either with a red or black Bakelite gyratator (Maytag's term for the agiator).

If you prefer the turquoise agitator - which was made out of polypropylene, rather than Bakelite (red or black), you can often find them on ebay. Currently, I found two listed - one for $59.95 and another for $44.95. There is a deal, Phil in upstate NY, that lists them periodically as well.

Oh thank you! That picture is very good! I was really trying to see if the agitator was indeed speckled like I thought it was! I am more interested in the red agitator version than the black agitator version.
And thank you for the tip on buying a different agitator! That is an option, however it would just be nicer to get a machine that already had that one, and the turquoise bar too. One nice thing I suppose though, is that I wont have to put that bolt in a hole somewhere to make the wringer work.
I am really thinking about getting it. The seller says it works and it is listed for $100. It is a little rusty on the outside but most paint is still there.
Are there any other advantges/disadvantages between the two agitators themselves? I did not even think of that! Also are the two models' tubs different? Thank you!

I suppose I could have two agitators and use whichever one I was in the mood for hah!

Oh Mathis, now you're really one of us!  There's plenty of agitator change-out activity among the membership here.

Haha! Ralph, thank you! It feels nice to be included! :)
I am feelin like I would like the red one, but would definitely want to see the turquoise some of the time.
Now I just have to actually go and check it out, and then buy it if its good, and hope it fits in my car somehow. And then discretely lift it up about 5 feet and try to fit in into a small doorway to get it into my outdoor building without anyone at my house noticing! Lol!
