More like 1967 or 1968. Has the shorter lid handle, and although I may have missed it, I don't see the RCA lettering.

With all the storms and flooding this past winter down on the cape, I wonder is this was a victim of flooding. Look at the background in the picture. Maybe, maybe not.

Your right Steve - I found what appears to be the model from a 1969 brochure model LTA5540 -

Whirlpool Washer, the panel does not have the 1969 pattern.

 

This was WP & KM standard shaded copper-tone color, I believe it is much more attractive that most other brands because, GE, WH had too great a contrast between the dark and lighter areas which made it look bad.
