Hello all my good people I had a dispute with a gentleman who loves to fix direct drive machines and has tons of parts he feels this washer is an 1970s model .. kitchen aide washers came out in the late 80s early 90s right ? So what model is this ! ? I was already given a clue by very nice people on this website to look at the serial number I see 90 so was this washer manufactured in 1990 ? Thank you if someone could tell me.

Jan 1989 to be exact....

serial numbers tend to be more of a counter than anything else....

Direct drives came out around 1981ish....and even then the first ones were 24" wide....bigger ones didn't start to show up to around 1984/5....

any time in the 70's, Direct Drive design was never even heard of...

this is just a Whirlpool, Kenmore clone...

but you will like the bigger base agitator of the KA models.....Size Matters!

Full interpretation of the serial:
C = Whirlpool's facility in Clyde, OH
9 = 1989
04 = 4th week of 1989
01180 = production sequence of that week

V in the model number also indicates 1989.

I like the blue agitator it has with the chrome ring on the dispenser.
