I was an old member of this forum. I'm currently moving, and I've replaced the old set of washer/dryer with a newer (soul-less) modern Maytag (Compared to the old Maytags, come on... It's like chalk and cheese). The landlords were going to scrap the machines so I moved them into storage. I'm no expert as you all are, but I have a Kenmore dryer, and Crosley heavy duty washer. They are free to a good home if you come pick up. I'm in the Portland, OR area.
The Crosley is making a noise like there is a coin or a nut caught against the drum as it spins. But otherwise works perfectly. (I didn't run it anymore after it started making the noise, and I was too busy to "pop the hood"). I have been told that the Crosley is a rebadged NORGE. (No Burpilator, sorry). Whether or not that is true, it is a wonderful heavy duty machine, in very good condition: No rust or discolouration.
Right after the Crosley started making noise, the Kenmore stopped heating. I expect it's probably a very simple replacement of some component that is, none the less, beyond my ken. I really loved using both machines: They're in good condition, and too good to scrap.
Please see included photos: That's dirt on the front of the Crosley, not scratches, and there is wax or detergent on the control panel of the Kenmore... Please forgive...
