Tried to pay my annual donation and got an error page 'something went wrong'. Is the system out of order? |

I think it may be due to the fact that Paypal recently redesigned its website. I had this same thing happen about 10 days ago when I made a purchase on ebay, using Paypal. I went directly to my Paypal bookmark and signed in with no problem, and signed out of Paypal. I then went back to ebay and paid with Paypal, and the transaction went smoothly.
I renewed my membership here about 5 days ago, and had no problems with Paypal. So i”m thinking that if you haven’t used Paypal since their website redesign, maybe you aren’t recognized right away because of the redesign. Try logging into Paypal thru their webpage like I did and maybe your problem willbe solved. HTH, Eddie |

That Paypal's website was undergoing changes/upgrades and that as of end June would no longer support "out dated browsers". One was supposed to log onto the site and check if whatever browser used met the new standard.
Many websites are doing the "updated browser" thing and other changes. A good part of this is related to the new EU privacy rules that just went into affect. Some sites now will not function if one does not accept cookies for instance. Other issue is of course the rapid changes in technology that make browsers and other systems "old" in just a year or so. *LOL* Microsoft began that nonsense by making their OS obsolete ever few years or so in attempts to force upgrades to whatever new version of Windows they put out. At first home and business users complied, but after awhle many did not. So MS upped the ante by withdrawing technical support for "out dated" or "obsolete" whatever. Problem is many are still using those old things which often can be infested with malware, bugs or other nasty things. Case in point Internet Explorer technically ended at 11. MS is now pushing Edge which came with Windows 10. Those who still have IE11 (Windows 7, 8,etc...) are still receiving security updates and so forth for now, but who knows how long MS will continue to fully support that "out dated" browser. |
