Hey there I have a 1995 Kenmore DD washer that is an electronic touch control panel . My detergent dispenser doesn't work for some reason. I know there is a bypass button Wich I pressed on and off with the dispenser still not working. The other day to my surprise it came on! It was pretty cool I wish it can work all the time but when I did another load the dispenser didn't work . Any ideas were to start

I have found with my 66 Lady that the powdered detergent dispenser does not operate when it's not needed. It works when you select a cycle with some sort of prewash, presoak or other option where the user would pour detergent directly into the tub for the first soapy agitation period. Then for the main wash period that dispenser flows to save the user from coming back to the machine. The Lady's also had a solenoid operated FS dispenser that would dispense in the final rinse if the user chose an extra rinse.
This is one of the great features of the LK's; they are one of the only brands of washer TOL's that work like today's front loaders where you add everything at the beginning and it's dispensed automatically at the correct time in the cycle. TOL Maytags never had it; Filter-Flo's didn't have it until 1972. Some MonkeyNorges had it but didn't have a FS dispenser for an "Extra Rinse" setting. |
