Eventually the balance ring is broken and the "oil" you see is actually the balance ring fluid. Open the top and check the inner part of the cabinet if there is any spray marks. This is rare but not impossible. |

The jumping spin basket probably has nothing to do with the oil on the base. This era had some instances where the lock nut on the drive would work it's way loose and allow the basket to "flop" around, eventually not spinning properly. It's best to replace the basket drive block and lock ring, and possibly the spin tube as the loose hub could wear down the tang that it was supposed to be locked onto.

Ok, found by looking the suspension plate was turned around- so I fixed the jumping/ balancing issue. The bleach and fabric softener doesn’t fill with water on the triple dispense. Any ideas where to look in there? |
