Just picked these up on Friday. Need to get them cleaned up but appear to be in really nice condition. Dryer came with drum drying rack and detachable clothes hanging rack. Dryer needs a new center console dial. They look to be the tail end of the “Lady Kenmore” line. Will send model numbers for assistance in checking the vintage of these machines.

Lights

Do these units still have console lights?

Ditto! Beauty set, Todd! Really nice machines. I like the almond colour. How does the automatic setting for the water temp work?

Yes, there's a little light the shines down over each timer dial.  As for the "auto" temp settings, there's cottons/sturdy whites and colors; Permanent Press Whites and Colors; Knit, Delicate.  Those are markings on the timer dial within each cycle.  That corresponds to Hot/Cold and Warm/Cold respectively for both Normal and Perm Press.  I believe the two delicates are both warm/cold temp combos.  Pre wash and pre soak are both warm.

Todd, congratulations.  These are the end of the LK for belt drives.  My October 1986 LK is the first DD.  These are the beauties I commented on the other day because the wash tub wasn't white porcelain.  This dryer was the only mechanical timer dial of the last belt dries that had a medium dry temperature.  In afct, tht's apliocable for all center dial belt drives, only the LK had the medium dry temp.  And you got luck with both the drying rack as well as the little "tree" used to hang clothes hangers on.

Vintage?

All settled in their new home. Washer leaks when triple dispenser is in operation...easy fix. Washer model number 82592800 and dryer model number 86592820. My older Kenmores that I used to have were easy to tell the year of make. First two digits were the year. Washer 1982...but dryer 1986? I seem to remember the year/naming convention changed in the “newer” models. Can someone please help me out with the year of manufacture on these? Thanks as always for everyone’s feedback.

Serial numbers are coded for the year and week of manufacture.

Belt-Drive (Thick or Thin)?

Just curious, but is this washer thin belt (near silent) or thick (standard)??
