I found this very unusual Simpson washer on New Zealand Trade me site. Cant find the auction now but saved the pictures. It looks like it has the old Fisher and Paykel cabinet, the Simpson rocker switch control panel and the older Simpson interior with the funky light blue agitator!

That cabinet was the F&P version of the UK Hotpoint top loaders. I've never seen a Simpson version, and the agitator is the same as a Simpson Minimatic from AU. What a hybrid! Or is it a mongrel?
Thanks Arrrooohhh, that's quite a find.
Chris.

The seller described it as being an 8kg capacity machine, and it looks like the inside of the 1974 Simpson the Mayfan69 has.

Maybe it was Simpsons first attempt at the NZ market or maybe it was made in NZ?

Shame is wasn't for sale in Aus as I would of bidded for it!

Actually it is interesting that not many NZ washers have made it over here when you often see interesting Euro machines that have made their way over.

It does look like the early Hotpoint UK cabinets, doesnt look like an 8KG capacity, love the blue control panel, there certainly seems to be some great washers showing up around your side of the world!!
