I found this auction recently on eBay. I was searching alternative options for a Maytag manual that is not available here on the ephemera site. And in my looking for that I landed on this interesting auction. I don't believe the manual I want would be in the set but it's still a very cool Maytag relic to find.
The seller has an index box full of company produced Maytag manuals on microfiche. I'm curious if anyone has any experiences with microfiche archives like this. Are they easy to digitize and if so is the result worth having?
I remember the microfiche machines back in school and after printing out what you needed the end result looked like a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy that had been raised from the Titanic.
I thought if there is a way to cleanly digitize them it might make a nice donation to the Ephemera collection here on the site if there was anything in it not already saved to the archive.

Definitely! It's a really nifty thing to come across. Still not sure how practical it is though for anything more than a Maytag collectible item.
I wrote to the seller to get a better idea of what's truly included and I also wrote to the ephemera gods here on AW to see if they have experience with microfiche. I know there are places you can have microfiche digitized but just still on the fence as to if the quality would be there or not, once blown up to full size.. those picture cells in the auction photos are teeny tiny!
PS.... apologies to everyone if I posted to wrong forum. I didn't put this in the Shoppers Square forum only because I considered it more a general question than as an item for sale. But I realize now I may have made a mistake there.
