I recently bought a house which had the original 2003 Kenmore Modle 363 dishwasher. It hasn't been drying properly and since I am not used to Kenmore brands I was wondering if it was a good enuff appliance to get fixed or should I just buy a new one.

Just to say ... 363 is not a full model number.  The full number is three digits, a period, and more digits ... syntax of xxx.xxxxxxxx

GE built for Sears

Checked the Sears.com/parts site and your machine came right up. It is a Ge designed and built machine. It has the pop up center tower and the upper wash arm on the top of the tub. Classic GE machine. How well it washes probably depends on many circumstances. That will have to be your opinion if it is working for you.

As far as the drying problem goes.. you will have to see if the element is still working or not. A multimeter can tell you if the element is good or burned out or you can use a ammeter that will tell you if it is drawing any current when it is supposed to be on. If it has a heat off button, it may not be working and stuck in the off position and therefore, no drying heat.

A few things to check. The decision to fix it is up to you. Probably thousands of similar machines out there running everyday after all these years. You can probably pick up a donor machine for just a few bucks.
