Found on a week long trip to Seattle and Vancouver on the wall of The Loft restaurant in Poulsbo,WA from the Seattle Times. There were ads for the all-new 1949 Nash Airflyte, 1949 Dodge, a house on Puget Sound for $10,500, and other modern things of postwar America! The food and scenery are great, too!

 I wonder just how "accurate" the varying degrees of dryness were. I would venture to guess the very first auto-dry dryer feature that wasn't timed dry only. I imagine that dryer with the Dry-Dial probably isn't any different with the later versions that had the "push" button to start an auto dry cycle. Very hot temperature. Could only be used on regular temperature, not delicate/low. And no cool down. Clothes very hot to the touch when complete. | ||

hot to the touch Yes, hot as in hurt. Something on the order of 180F. Good news was, sanitized.
Bad news was, drum operated under positive pressure. Lint came out places you didn't know were places. And deposited between inner and outer drum. Left unattended, this built up to where the drum stalled.
There was a removable panel at the cylinder bottom through which one could fish out lint buildup with a coathanger. I adopted that duty around age 12. Along with my older talent, putting the snubbers back on their plates after the slanty did the Lindy.
The slanty was older than shown. Double door, no boot. No water level knob; it was always full anyway.
